Example installations

Below you will find some common installations along with brief descriptions on how the individual components work together to create a complete vehicle solution. The great thing about Race Technology products is that you can start small and add to your data system as you go along creating a custom solution that fits perfectly for you.

This is the most common motorcycle installation package, the DASH2 is the perfect display for motorcycle riders with easy to read display and extremely bright shiftlights. The DL1 feeds laptiming and speed data to the DASH2 and this package has combined 12 analogue channels for extra sensors if you wish to expand at a later stage.
This package is equally suitable for cars and the DASH2 can be exchanged for the DASH3 for those wanting a bit simpler installation.

This is a typical installation in a road car or a road legal trackday/race car. The VIDEO4 DL1 package provide an perfectly synchronised video and data at the touch of a button readily available for instant review alongside the data in the Analysis software, to burn DVD's or upload to the internet. The OBDII interface links the vehicle ECU directly to the DL1 and VIDEO4 so a wealth of ECU information is available both as real time overlay in the video and in the data set.

For those doing wanting a bit more information adding a display to the above system is ideal. The DASH3 adds live laptiming capabilities with sector timing and predictive lap timing possible. The DASH3 can also display alarms for any channel from the ECU or DL1 and has built in fully configurable shiftlights. We have ECU interfaces available for many different ECUs and can also offer a user configurable CAN interface to connect with all the latest stand alone ECUs.

The ultimate racer package. Using the DL2 its possible to have up to 16 analogue sensors on the car, in this sample there are 4 damper position sensors giving information about the movement of the suspension, which can be critical to making the most of the vehicle set up. The DASH2 display informs the driver not only of all ECU parameters using the ECU interface but also live lap timing. The VIDEO4 professional is then the icing on the cake providing fully synchronised video in addition to the data stream all recorded on a single card for instant review after the session.
