Interesting thoughts, but I don't think forward travel speed has anything to do with it. My engineering skills are rusty, but I figured you'd assume a sinusoidal shock motion of some amplitude A (1-2 inches shock travel?) then take the derivative to get V, and then set V equal to say 5 in/sec (since...

Has anyone tried logging shock velocities? Sample rate ok?

I've found some cheap ride height sensors and thought I'd give this a shot as a way to tune double-adjustable shocks. However, the DL1 can log at only 100 Hz, which may not be fast enough. Does anyone know if that will work?

How to share and compare data with users of other systems?

Has anyone found a way to share and compare run data with users of other systems like Traqmate, G2X, etc? R/T doesn't have an import feature (it can only export to .csv) so it seems like we'd have to either analyze in Excel, use somebody's software that can import data, or find a way to create our o...

I use an Innovate LC-1 with my DL1 and it works great. I won't bother emailing you data, because it is exactly what you'd expect it to be.

If all you want is AFR, the DL1 is overkill obviously.

Sure, I might try experimenting, but if my car is not knocking then I'll never know if it's working or not. :(

I don't know of an easy way to cause knock, short of filling up with cheap gas.

Can the DL1 count a pulse signal (knock)?

I would like to use the DL1 to monitor if my car is knocking; my knock signal is a very quick pulse from the ECU (probably 5V). I see that Version 7 seems to have a "Pulse Counting" feature on the frequency inputs. Does the software then just count pulses and store that count in the variab...

I finished hooking up my LC1 thru the analog line, and seems to be working just fine. Any advice on monitoring the data over the Dash1 display? I tried using a long bar graph style, but the bar graph barely changes since it's scaled probably 0 to 30. Can the bar graph be manually re-scaled to someth...

Re: DO NOT DO THIS

Just a post to warn people to NEVER connect the LC-1 to the DL1. The data in the other direction (DL1->LC-1) will actually KILL the LC-1 dead as a nail. Apparently, the stream of live data from the DL1 will somehow put the LC-1 into firmware upgrade mode, and erase the existing firmware! ... FYI, y...

To do it more precisely, here's how. Let's say your signal isn't exactly 0-5v, but rather 0.5 to 4.5v (that's about what my throttle pot signal is). So... v1 = 0.5 v2 = 4.5 Your Percent equation: % = m*Volts + b where b = 100 * v1 / (v1-v2) m = -b/v1 So for my example, my answer is: %Throttle = 25*v...

I was doing some rpm v. hp plots several months ago and one thing you'll need to do is some smoothing of the hp data. I was using 5th order polynomial smoothing, but there are other reasonable choices.

Can we import data from other data logger systems?

I'm wondering if I can analyze some run data from a buddy's AIM system, which is a beacon-based (not GPS) system. I didn't see anything in the help file about importing data, so I don't know if this is possible.

Anyone had any success?

DL1 and DASH1 mounting in a Porsche 911- with pics!

After a lot of thought and time, I finally got my Dash1 display mounted in my car, so I thought I'd post some pics for others to get some use out of. The car is a 1995 993, with the DL1 mounted under the passenger seat near the back. The install is pretty clean looking, but getting it in there was p...
