If the original cluster is still connected then usually you can just read the voltage on the sensor output, assuming that the ground levels are the same. A more detailed explaination is that the level sensor (like temperature sensors) has a variable resistance. To read this resistance, the dash/ecu ...

Yes, I see the problem now. The dash3 has no way of decoding the serial data from the ECU. With analysis this is performed by the ProcessSerialData7.dll I see that the system is designed to use the ECU interface to translate the ECU serial stream into the DL1/Dash3 serial stream. Now it makes sense.

User variables in dash3

How do I use user variables in the dash3? I have created a new ProcessSerialData7.dll with the ECU serial stream translation (which I have to do every new version, as well as manually entering all the variable configuration in again). This shows up in analysis correctly and run files translate and d...

Speed input maximum frequency

Is there any way around the 2kHz maximum speed input frequency? Using the ABS sensors we are currently exceeding this frequency. The ABS has 50 teeth, so provides 50 pulses per wheel revolution, so the datalogging limit is 40 revs/sec. The tire dynamic circumference is just over 2 metres, so this gi...

In the end I had to solder 18AWG wire onto all the existing wires, and this wire is the absolute maximum size the connectors will take, but is very hard to pull out. Where two wires previously in the same connector, I had to join these together. The 22-28AWG sensor wire would pull out straight away ...

DL1 mk2 connectors

I'm upgrading from the DL1 mk1 to mk2. Is there any alternative to the Weidmuller constant tension connector? I've never had any problems with the old screw type connectors, but the new connector is a serious pain in the ass. Most wires don't have enough retention force and pull out easily. Only sma...
