When I want to tap into existing wiring I usually parallel solder. So I strip a bit of the isolation of the existing wire, put tin on that and solder the new wire parallel to it. Isolation with good isolation tape, relatively easy to remove, easy to restore in almost original state and no cut in ori...

Please don't forget OBD has limited speed on which it delivers information. With the normal publicly available interface (so not manufacturer specific) you're very lucky if you get up to 7 samples per second if only monitoring 1 variable. So monitoring 2 would get you 3.5 per variable etc. You can g...

Hi, hmm, but what would be done in hardware what you can't do in software afterwards? Judging from the noise on the 12V line, there is plenty information there The g-tech worked pretty well. As long as there was enough noise on the 12V (the case in most cars) you just had to calibrate it (hold it at...

Getting RPM's from 12V feed

Hi, A while back I had a G-Tech Pro RR. Compared to the DL1 it is a very simple product and can't do the things my DL1 can. A feature however that I liked is that the unit was able to get an RPM signal by analysing the rimple that is on most cars 12V board power. When logging data with the DL1 I see...

Connecting sensor to DL1

I have a sensor I want to connect to my DL1. It is a resistive sensor (just 2 connections) which changes resistance between 20Mohm and 20Kohm. Does anyone have a good way to connect this to the DL1?

Thanks!

Mark
