Thanks for the quick reply. I cannot install the latest (8.5) software - my RT video license is not compatible and will only run on version 8.0. I would love to use the latest software, but my video license is not up-gradable and it is hard to justify the cost of a new one, as I will see very little...

Analysis 8 software registration fail again.

A painful and expensive day at the track (ended with rod through block at 11k rpm) was made even more difficult by not having registered Analysis8: All serial data disappeared - which meant I could not get to the data I needed. I built another Win 7 laptop last night, and it also failed to register ...

I control a 10A waterpump from my ECU PWM (a spare injector pin) using a Solid State Relay with a thermal pad and old PC cpu heat-sink attached. Can't remember what make the relay was but it is about the size of a box of matches and was approx £30. Wiring is simple - wire to battery, wire to ECU pi...

Many Thanks.

I presume that if I use 12 track markers on the DL1 MK2, the arduino could calculate time slip from the sector times and plot a graph (as per the picture above) from the live serial data stream?

Ta,

Paul

Ok, this problem is now sorted. It is not possible to piggy-back the DASH2 messages as they are not timed tightly enough. I have successful logging of all 36 serial channels by ensuring there is a delay between each message I send which gives the DL1 time to read them, and more importantly, time to ...

You can choose any free channels you want - I originally used all the free analogue channels (9 to 32? exluding 17,18,19 and 20 that are used by the Dash2) This worked except for the very last channel for some reason. I am still testing and ironing out small bugs, and my code is not publishable for ...

I have Tx line of Dash2 - to Arduino - to ECU serial interface - to DL1 mk2. I have Rx line of Dash2 - hardwired to DL1 Tx, but it is tapped into the arduino so I can read from this line. I have upped my arduino buffer to 256 bytes, and today tested with my transmissions triggered directly by every ...

I too am /was new to arduino and coding, but today got my arduinos working, with many thanks to Colin, as without his code I woud have never got this far. I have still got issues, but it is pretty much functional now. The hardware is cheap, but I am on revision 156 of my code, so factor in a minimum...

Yes I have: this page explains the speed of data signals and approximate number of channels, but does not specify if there is a lower actual maximum speed induced by hardware. I should have perhaps asked what the maximum speed of decoding serial is (decoding is an optional tick box in the SETUP.BIN ...

DL1 serial buffer and ECU interface buffer size and speed

My arduino project is 90% working (7x arduino's connected between RT Dash2 and RT ECU Serial interface.) RT Monitor is showing all 36 channels (4 Dash2) + (12 ECU) + (20 Arduino) coming out of the ECU serial interface with circa 0.2% errors. However, the DL1 cannot read the serial stream unless I re...

I am fairly sure that the DASH2 has 30Hz sampling and the DL1 is 100Hz or optionally 1000Hz, so you would be wasting a valuable fast channel if you connected the fuel sender to the DL1.

Time Slip available on Serial Channel 96

Are Time-Slip and Time-slip Rate available to decode on the serial stream from DL1 mk2? Knowledge base suggests they can be found at the end of the Channel 96? FYI this is what I'm trying to do: a steering-wheel mounted miniature OLED display, showing ten graphed sector times and a time-slip rate ga...

Thanks for the quick support. Version 8.5 does solve my problem - immediate loading of my video. Unfortunately my video license only allows me to use V8 or earlier, and at the moment we can't justify the £150+Vat to upgrade from SD video license to HD video license, unless somebody here wants to pu...

Speed up AVI to VD4 conversion

I have posted about my problem before but not had a reply: m So some questions to help me minimize the 40minute conversion process: What affects the speed of the conversion? Do I need multiple processor cores, or a faster single processor? More RAM? Anyone using an intermediate format (MPEG perhaps)...
