Since I can't find a proper adaptor to fit the Race-Technology Bosch oil temperature sensor, I want to buy a 1/8NPT VDO sensor. hardwiring into battery

Hi,

I wish to hardwire my DL1 unit directly into the battery with an ON/OFF switch. The battery is a 12V Odyssey PC680 gel battery and I would connect to the +/- terminals. Is this advisable or not ?
