Fuel Flow sensor Spare Jets

I've misplaced the little plastic jets that came with the Fuel Flow sensor, are they available as a separate part? failing that are the dimensions available so i can turn up a suitable replacement on a lathe?

Re: Custom Colour arduino Dash Display

Hi I haven't implemented any of the lap timing functions in my unit as the car is mostly used for rally's rather than circuit work. I think, but am not sure as i haven't looked into it much, that the Lap timing calculations are all done in the DL1 rather than the dash, if that's the case it would be...

Re: EMS 8860, DL1 and Dash 2

ah, that makes sense! on the RT page you linked to it does say "logger or dashboard" (in 2 places actually) maybe that's an issue? if you just plug the ecu into the RT interface and then plug the rt interface into a pc (with nothing else attached) does anything come up on the RT live monit...

Re: EMS 8860, DL1 and Dash 2

What format is the serial data out of the ecu? unlikely it will be in the RT format, i had a quick look at the 8860 manual and couldn't find any reference to a serial data output but i'm assuming this is how it talks to the pc. To do what your trying i think you would need a converter module that re...

Custom Colour arduino Dash Display

Hi guys
Thought you might be interested in a YouTube video covering a project of mine to build a custom dash display using a 3.5” Colour LCD screen and an arduino that is compatible with the Race Technology serial communication Format

Re: DL1 MK1 No Longer Recording on CF Card

are all the indicator lights flashing as normal with the card installed? I had issues with my dl1 when the pins to the card header broke off the circuit board and shorted against each other, this must have shorted power to the card so when i had CF card installed the indicator lights would stop work...

Re: DL1 Mk1 and Mk2 Internal Battary

Nice one ,I like the idea of a replaceable holder,i'll definitely rip of that idea and pass it off as my own!

thanks

DL1 Mk1 and Mk2 Internal Battary

So I've had to open up my DL1 Mk2 again, the card reader had failed again, some of the pins in the header for the CF flash socket have un-soldered themselves from the board, all fixed now but in both my DL1 units there is an internal CR Battery soldered to the main board, of course most both are sho...

No problem at all, haven't been to Detroit yet, but work for a big OEM so you never know I might track that beer down one day

DL1 sending incorrect values on Lines 1, 2 and 3

So this is doing my head in at the moment. I have 2 DL1 loggers, a Mk1 and Mk2 and the both appear to have failed in the same way. When i put say 4 volts on pin 4 I get 4.000 sent out on the serial data (confirmed on the lite monitor) when i put the same 4 volts on pin 1 i get 11.632! even stranger ...

Re: Dash2 Serial Datastream questions

Data being 8 bits means that the entirety of byte1 is multiplied by 16777216 (2^24) then added to the entirety of byte2 multiplied by 65536 (2^16) then added to the entirety of byte3 multiplied by 256 (2^8) then that giant number is multiplied by 0.01? This is the correct interpretation the multipl...

Re: Compact flash to SD card adapter in DL1

yes, with a bit of mucking around to get the ribbon cable out of the DL1 (unfortunately the SD card mounts on the side of the CF adapter) the SD card extender also works, makes it a lot easier to get to the card!

Re: DL1 Not running with SD card installed

I was about to send the unit back to RT, but opened it up first to have a look myself, I noticed that a couple of the CF card reader socket pins were a bit wonky, so I very carefully separated them with a razor blade and pressed them back onto the solder pad with my soldering iron. That fixed the pr...
