You don't even need to power it off. When you insert a CF card into the DL1, it detects that a new car has been inserted and looks for setup.bin in the root. If it finds the file, it will overwrite the existing setup options in some internal flash memory. The docs seem to recommend removal of the se...

Mods: can we do something about all the spammers?

It seems like there's been a strong upswing in lowlifes spamming the board in the last month or so. I check the forum using the "View posts since last visit" functionality, and lately it seems half the new messages are spam. Is there anything the moderators can do to clean this up? Perhaps...

For open course circuits (like auto-x) you need to follow a poorly documented procedure to get it to work. Manually make a track marker for the start, and label it, exactly, "start of run". Be sure to uncheck the box for "use this as the lap marker". Do the same at the finish and label it "end of ru...

Where did the revision list go?

With the release of the new web site, I cannot find the software revision log. Where did it go, and can RT please make a new link to the rev history file? Also, please change the default text editor to something other than black text on dark blue background. This is impossible to use as it sits. I h...

So, should I just forward my original post to support@race-technology.com, or does support still monitor this board?

Thanks,
Steve

I bought mine in the big group buy before last Christmas. I think it was built in the Jan/Feb timeframe of this year. It is serial number 1148.

DL1 Inputs State When Powered Off

I have a DL1 to which I have a low level tach signal tied in. This is a 1 pulse/ignition event signal that also runs the factory dashboard display in my Honda S2000. When the DL1 is not powered up, the tach input apparently goes to ground, or at least has very low impedence, as my dash tach will sho...

Yes, if you are suffering from noise, the shielded cable should help.

I found futher information on the low level tach input. Look in the help file under hardware/DL1/connections. RPM [5v] channel description is "5-15v Trigger - ECU or Tacho Use."

I don't believe you can calculate tire slip angle from heading data alone. Thinking about things in two dimensions, you need vector velocity (heading & velocity) and yaw rate about the car's vertical axis. Currently, you are missing two key pieces of information: requested vehicle yaw rate (stee...

Thanks, that did the trick. I had already figured out that I didn't want to have a lap marker, but I didn't find anything in the documentation about the key words "start of lap" and "end of lap". That's what I was missing. It would be nice to add info on those key words to the docs for a future rele...

How do I define a non-continuous lap?

In anticipation of the arrival of my DL1, I've been getting to know the v6 analysis software (6.1.38 and now 39), using data from a friendly autocross racer. The problem I'm running into is how to get the time slip functionality to work. It seems that time slip won't calculate because I have not def...
