Peter, Having no termination resistors will not really be a big factor in noise (i.e. interference). If you have interference then you should use a screened cable earthed only at one end (to avoid ground loops). The 120 ohm resistor is actually to allow matching of the impedance. a matched impedance...

Kuah, Did you ever get this to work? I have just done an install into my BMW MINI with a DL1 (mark 1 green connectors) firmware 28-2, Dash2 firmware 9.1.9 and a ECU serial interface, firmware is for Motec M800 data set 3 090529. My M800 is 3.52J. These are all the latest levels for all devices. Voil...

DL1 Internal Battery
Hi, I have started a new project to get a DL1 and Dash2 connected to a Motec M800 on my MINI JCW. I have purchased the ECU serial adapter and Dash2 and connected everything. The Dash2 is new, but the DL1 is one that I have had lying around for a couple of years. It is a Mark 1 (later edition with gr...

I used a 15 Ohm resistor as it gives a wider voltage spread. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2438/vdocalcs.jpg Note that I measured 4.98V on the +5V reference out from the DL1. You just input the voltage against the corresponding pressure value into the table provided to get your quadratic equati...

I attach a pic of what the circuit should look like. There has to be some resistance in the circuit. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4366/canbustermination.jpg Generally, the ECU will be terminated with 120 Ohm and the last device on the bus should also terminate with a 120 Ohm resistor. So worst...

This is from an old post of mine, but the data is still valid. This is the bar versus resistance data you need for the VDO 10 bar sensor. you will need to convert it to voltage by adding a pull-up resistor to +12v to create a voltage divider. Bar Resistance 0 = 7.2 0.5 = 18.2 1 = 28.2 1.5 = 39.2 2 =...
