I think the problem is that from what you describe, the fuel sender isn't a potentiometer but a rheostat, i.e. it outputs a resistance reading rather than a voltage. You need to modify the wiring to allow it to act as a potentiometer - just like RT themselves do with some of there own senders. What ...

I asked this in an email to RT, with respect to connecting up my fuel gauge. (Oil/water temp and oil pres' are routed directly to the DL1 for logging, I wasn't bothered about logging fuel levels) Here's the answer - Yes, use the 5v output from the DL1 if the DL1 and the DASH2 use the same power supp...

Don't konw about specific error codes, but a disruption to the power supply while logging can corrupt the CF card

A serial connection for logging purposes does seem to be the optimum way to go; at a stroke it eliminates any LC1 analogue out "issues".
I'll keep an eye on the thread with interest, be good to know someones sucessfully managed it!

Thanks Ground Loop for the warning; was going to be connecting up a similar set up this weekend. and would of probably tried doing it like that.

I managed to track down some fuel, temperature and pressure versus resistance charts for VDO sensors; if you pm me your email address I'll forward you copies.

However, in the end, as my existing VDO instrument set will sell more easily with the senders included, I've replaced them anyway.

VDO oil pressure sender with DL1/Dash2

I think I'm getting there on the temp sender, fuel and Lambda sensor equations, but am a bit lost coming up with something for the VDO electrical 0 - 5 bar sender. Just wanted to check I wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel; has anybody already come up with a working equation for this unit? Thanks in...
