Yes, the red button will override the auto start/stop. You don't even need a GPS signal.
If the log lights were lit you should have good data, sounds like a different problem.

Re: Bosch PST-F 1 Sensor
Thanks. I purchased one but I'm totally drawing a blank on how to wire in a pull-up resistor. Can anyone offer assistance? On their temp sensors, R-T puts a resistor on the 5V ref wire, but I suspect that would cause issues with the pressure side of this switch. So I'm not clear where, and between w...

Re: Dash2Pro and Megasquirt CAN
Resolved, and it was my error. In checking my wiring for a third time, I finally recognized that I had swapped within my Deutsch connector off the DASH the white CAN1H wire and the white Analog input 3 wire. Swapped them, used the CMG that Dan provided via email (which I think is better than the def...

Re: Bosch PST-F 1 Sensor
That is an intriguing sensor, I didn't know it existed.
What's the source and cost?
Any thoughts on its suitability to be mounted directly into an engine block oil gallery? Generally, I like to remote-mount my sensors, but I like this idea.

Re: Dash2Pro and Megasquirt CAN
Thank you, Daniel. That was emailed to you tonight. As noted in the email I simply started with a new default dash config file and added the ECU from the drop-down. However, I did have a conflict selecting the cooolant temp from the options list, as it complained that Analog 1 was already in use. De...

Re: Variable list not loadable
Spitballing here, but are you using v10 analysis software? I recently learned that v8.5 should be used with older devices since the v10 software pulls the variable list directly from the data file. I don't know if that also applies to the DASH-3. Actually, I may have mis-stated this. From this link...

Re: Analysis Software - Multiple Vehicles
Thanks AD, I appreciate the follow up. Glad I've not missed anything obvious all these years. I think that my short-term strategy will be using v8.5 for the historics car and v10 for the new(er) car (they seem to run together OK). Alternatively, it shouldn't be too hard to find a bargain-priced Mk3 ...

Analysis Software - Multiple Vehicles
I've been using R-T race produts for 15 years now...and I've got one annoying issue I've yet to get around to resolving: supporting multiple disparate cars. What is the best and quickest way to manage multiple cars that are totally disparate in configuration? For example, I'm supporting both a histo...

Re: DASH2 move from DAT to CMG
But then i had all the settings in a spreadsheet. Right. So for the rest of us that are not OCD and choose instead to use the database file as the database (crazy, I know), this change requires someone to spend a lot of time micro-managing all the settings into your spreadsheet, hoping they got it ...

Re: DASH2 move from DAT to CMG
That's a massive disincentive to upgrading firmware.
And a real black eye if R-T does not offer a reasonable way to do it.

Re: DL1 MK1 No Longer Recording on CF Card
I wanted to update this thread to clarify that I was, in fact, incorrect: the native Windows 10 formatting for FAT16 is not compatible with the Mk1 and Mk2 DL1s. Despite the GUI indicating is it formatting to FAT16, the Windows 10 native GUI formats to a newer FAT16 LBA, which the legacy DL1 devices...

Re: DL1 MK1 No Longer Recording on CF Card
Hi, Kieran. What is your source for that? I suggest it may be incorrect. FAT/FAT16 only supports 4GB partitions max and 2GB file sizes max. If you mount a card that is larger than 4GB then "FAT" will not be an available option to you. There is a workaround, if you're up to it: use DISKPART to resize...
