A friend of mine needs to reflash his DL1 to some more recent firmware. He needs the lap-timing features and his firmware is version 3.<something> which ISTR doesn't support this.

Creating new variables and layouts shouldn't take days! Make a note of what filtering, smoothing, max and mins etc you have in V6 for your variables, and copy them across quickly - maybe half an hours work. 1) The log status output is indeed a sink and
2) The beacon input is active high
