Incomplete/non-readable run files in Analysis

Not so much a problem as an observation that might help others... it would seem that the latest version of 8 may have better facilities for managing potentially incomplete or troubled run files? I have had some run files recently that didn't open on one computer running an older version of software ...

Yeah, I'm fighting this now too, on a different computer... Grr. Worked fine all weekend at the track, in "demo" mode, now I can't even open a single file thanks to being behind a proxy. Does it make sense to completely be unable to use the software if I can't register it??? Sucks, I was a...

Sounds like you caught somebody in a "Copy/Paste"...

As for matching up your calculated vector accel vs. the reported vector accel: I hope you've turned off all filtering?

I'm guessing with some of the stuff (like velocities from ax and ay, likewise multiple yaw rates and slip angles) he's looking to compare different modeling results vs. actual... I'm surprised there's a limit on # of variables... maybe this is improved in 8? I have only a more normal/moderate number...

We found similar results when we didn't have the autolog settings correct. I don't remember what the correct desired config would be, other than it seemed backwards to me. I bailed on the autolog after a few failures and switched back to manual use of a button. I found it too high of a risk of not g...

I've been one of the Beta testers; does indeed look great...

We may be doing too good a job, keeping Andy too busy with improvements etc! LOL

But it is indeed still a very active project... though I can't speak for when it will be done, of course, not my call!

I'm not sure if you're working with a new or used setup, but we've had some odd problems that required both the latest firmware into the DL1 and Dash3 as well as the very latest computer software downloaded to create the configs for particularly the dash. There was an earlier Dash3 config SW that ha...

Yes, the point being that if the car is level and static, the accelerometers should read no significant offset. It's just a check of sensor offset, not alignment.

Yeah, I'd think you'd better have it looked at!!!

Have you looked at any raw data sitting still? That should tell you pretty quickly and clearly if you have an accelerometer calibration problem. Just take a 5sec trace sitting in the driveway...

If the dash continues to add up the time, you're not losing power; when the dash voltage dropped too low (in my case), it would reset/power cycle, and start timing fresh at the next sector/lap marker I passed. So I don't see you having a power loss problem. I think the only problem you have is that ...

An update on this after testing with my unit last night... With the latest firmware (think it's 1.40.7 now?) we were still having some odd problems with lap/sector time display; while best times would be measured and displayed, they were stuck on the first lap, and no current lap/sector times would ...

Am all ears on this; when I've had problems displaying laps on my Dash3, it's been related to power dropping too low... the DL1 would continue to log one continuous file without issue, but the DL1 would shut off and reset, then pick up and start a new lap at the next sector marker. Now, another new ...

I suspect it is still, well, maybe not a "problem" as a sensitive area. I was at VIR this summer, and remember setting a start/finish marker in the pits, fully past the right of the track, and not picking that up the next lap when we passed by on the line, fully on the left of the track. ....
