#2 can also be caused by startting logging before GPS has locked on especially if this happens in a bad reception area like under an awning, the initial fix can be off and usually rapidly homes in to the correct location. That, too, can be trimmed off (from the front of the run) as Jeremy suggests....

Not sure what your seeing with number 1, but number 2 in my experience is caused by not stopping the run logging before the power is turned off. If you have a file with that second problem, you can trim it in the Run Manager so that you only have to deal with it once and it will be good for future ...
