You must be very young or something. Has it occured to you that others might read these boards and benefit from the information contained herein? You're funny. Why do you think I posted this data? I stand nothing to gain from publishing it. FWIW, I was young ... a long time ago. People like you (wh...

Really Stan!?

And to think I spent all that time working out factors to nine digits past the decimal by hand ...

Thanks for the concern. I didn't pay them. They're friends. I asked them to teach me how to do the work myself. I'm a "teach to fish" guy, not a "give a fish" guy.

Edited: I'm not feeling the love here. If you want help with setting up inexpensive sensors, ask "stan".

Clearly you're not reading my posts. One more time ... I don't doubt that the sensors you're selling are very high quality. I do, however, doubt the logic of using such highend sensors in an amature motorsports setting (and clearly so do your competitors with much more high priced DAQ systems). It's...

I tell you what ... I'll do some research and you folks can do some too (after you fix and test the Dash1).

Here's a vendor in the USA that sells Stack. Every sensor I questioned is cheaper. Some are less than half the cost.

Stan, Do you think that most racers want to spend their time working out resistor values for voltage dividers or deriving polynomials for conversion from volts to PSI? Please. Since you seem onboard with the idea of affordable sensors, have you worked out the math above? I have. I had to enlist an E...

Like I said, I'm sure that the sensors you sell are both very high quality and priced appropriatly for a high end sensor. I don't question why you sell them. I'm sure that they're F1 quality. I simply question the need for a super high end sensor in an amature motorsports application. I'm not concer...

Sensor prices

While I'm sure that the sensors you're selling are worth thier cost, I question the need for such high end sensors in a typical amature motorsports application. $250 for an oil pressure sensor and cable? An autometer sensor is $30, a resistor is $1, 2m of wire is $5. If you throw in 100% profit, you...

The laptop is newer than the desktop. Both are Dell. Both are box stock. The desktop is a 4150 (two years old or so). It has always worked fine with other apps that use the serial port, such as: The reflash for my racing radios, the programming for my home theater remote, reflash Garmin GPS, etc. Al...

After quite a bit of hassle, I finally got it to flash. The reflash utility doesn't like my desktop. I managed to borrow a laptop and it worked from that machine. It's worth noting that my desktop runs the monitor software without issue and its serial port has always worked with other applications. ...

Downloading HEX files

Per your knowledgebase, there is no way to select a file type of "TXT". I've tried FireFox 1.0, 1.5 and IE 6.0. The only options you get in IE are "HTML" and "All Files". FireFox only offers "All Files". Please let know how to proceed and, if approriate, please correct the knowlegebase. -Kyle

DL1 reflash - file select issue

When I run the DL1 reflash utility, and it's asking me to choose a file, it will not accept any choice I make. I just stays on that file selection screen. Even hitting cancel has the same result. The HEX file I downloaded is named DL1V6.HEX and begins with: DL1 code with GSM not automatically enable...

I like to break up my sectors into corners and straights too.

But I just found out that the timing display on the Dash1 can only deal with 9 sector markers.

So if you have a Dash1, you should get in the habit of using fewer than 9 sector markers.
