I'd very much like to work out my wheel speed from RPM and gear ratio data to compare with GPS speed. I'm hoping it will show up wheel slip and spin if I'm lucky, which will help with my driving and setting up of the car.
I can make my own variable, but can't work out how to get the numerical value of the current gear in the equation editor. This is 99% of the time correct (although extreme wheelslip would make the calculated gear wrong I suppose).
Is this the sort of thing that can be done? If so, how?

Yes, but how can I convert that 'on the fly' to the numerical gear ratio (e.g. 1.666)?
I suppose I could do a big nested IF statement if(var_0022=1,2.078,if(var_0022=2,...) but that isn't very elegant, and doesn't automatically update when I change the ratios in vehicle settings etc.

Dig you now.
You could assign Vehicle Constants (CAR_1 to CAR_10 are available) at the time you set gear ratios.
BTW, what do you make of this new thread: http://www.race-technology.com/forum/vi ... highlight=
