Import csv files into Analyse?

Postby MadMarx » Fri Dec 17, 2010 8:42 am

I have the datas from my old logger that I would like to import to RT and compare it with the current results.

Is there any way to import these files?

Regards
Chris

No, but you might be able to output CSV files from RT data and compare with excel or something similar

I hoped the software would provide an exchange file format so that an upgrade to the race technology system would not cut off the whole data collecting in "before" and "after".
Excel seems not suitable to me or do you have a way to compare the datas properly?

Hi,

There is no way to import data from other systems into our software at the moment. As Turby says, your best option is to either use excel or matlab if required.

Kind regards,

I found Dashware last week. They can import csv from other loggers if you tell the software how the CSV datas are arranged.

This is quickly done and then I can compare older sources with new ones.

DashWare combines data in CSV format and video together. It can't compare runs against each other, unless you make viedoes of each lap and then perform a frame by frame analysis...

My Dashware don't need a video and can compare several laps from the csv-files.

So what is needed for Racetechnology is a csv -> RUN converter :-)

This is something that I have asked about before and even now would be very useful. I am sure it would encourage people to switch systems and join RT because no one wants to lose years of data. Trying to compare by using excel is useless.

GREAT! I will try it but it would be wonderful if RT did a convertor program!
