Lat Accel Offset

Postby evl » Thu Oct 11, 2007 7:20 pm

Hi-

Currently my DL1 reads typical peak lateral accel values of 1.6G in right handers and 1.2G in left handers. After spending some time checking alignment settings and corner balances, I found that the "GPS lat accel" value peaks were roughly equal from side to side, so I'm guessing something is wrong with the accelerometers. I went through the zeroing accelerometer procedure of leveling the car, recording a stationary run, and loading that up to find the zeros. Turns out I was only off by 1 degree or so, and applying that to my logs doesn't fix my 0.4G left/right difference. Any other things I should be trying?

Thanks,

-Chris

Chris:

Can you try taking readings with the DL1 standing still on its right and left sides? That's the most direct way of seeing a major offset.

Assuming that it does have that, you can send it in for recalibration.
