we still explore remote controle for dl1 start/stop.
we have an unused analogic input 8 and we try to use it to start dl1 using a current of + 5V by a switch.
Autostart set to autostart if input > 3000mv works fine.
then after we try to use it to stop dl1.
Autostop tested with autostop if input 8 > 3000 mv (and without autostart in this case) don't work...
nevertheless we record 5 v current in datas of the run file on the analogic 8 in both cases...therefore the autostop function of dl1 system don't work.
is it a bug of the firmware ? (we use V10 you sent us in september)

Is this a Mk2 (ie serial port on rear, and double row rear connector) DL1?

If so, I can send updated firmware, you might want to download latest Analysis to make sure you have latest DL1 Config utility as well.

We tried the new firmware on our DL1 MK2 with the last software to make a setup file.
when we used auto start on analogic 7 (> 3000) it works fine,
the same config used for auto stop on analogic 7 never works.
what do you think about ?
is it a bug or a hardware failure?
On the same DL1 we cannot use remote...
JC
PS: is it possible to switch off +12V DL1 without stopping sampling?
is the run file reliable?

JC:

I'm afraid I don't understand the autostop question, maybe you could email me the setup file and I can open and understand.

Regarding turning off the power w/o stopping recording - this is not recommended procedure but will usually work OK, probably 95%+ reliability. If you do lose some data it should not be much.

Al i can send you a setup.bin, but i think i can explain also what we tried.
we have a unused analagogic input (7) on the DL1.
on this input (7) i have a wire to +5V by a switch on the dashboard.
i made a setup.bin with autostop on for analogic input on (7) > 3000mv (and an autostart off, because we wanted test only autostop).
when logging is started on DL1, we thought that pushing the switch would input 5V on analogic 7 and therefore stop logging, but it did not work.
then we tried the same to test autostart; i made a new setup .bin with autostart on for analogic input on (7) > 3000mv (and an autostop off, because we wanted test only autostart) and this works fine !!
what do you think about ?
is it a bug of the software or a hardware failure ?
