Dash2 peak-hold function

Postby MatsB » Mon Apr 27, 2009 3:09 pm

We use a exhaust gas temperature sensor to tune our 2-stroke cart engine, is there any way to get a peak hold on the dash2, for example the value is always the highest that has occured over the last 5 or 10 seconds. As it is now, the only help is the alarm function as the read-out on the display does not hold the value, so a driver has no way of comprehend what is the highest value was..
Averaging is not a good help as it "smear" the high values..

You can program one of the buttons to do a Max/Min view.

You will need to convert the thermocouple output to an analog 0-5 or 12 vdc signal to input it into the dash or dl1 though.

The thermocouple is connected with an amplifier, so the signal is ok,

How do I program the buttons to do a Min/Max view?
Normal cart tracks gives the highest exhaust temperature at the end of the straights, and normally you glance at the dash after exit of the following curve which is just a few seconds later, so displaying a moving max value over couple of seconds would capture the heat stress for the engine and allowing the driver to tune the carburator at the upcoming straight
