when buy 2nd jand telemetry what things are in need to look and check is there a status check of the hardware?
Hook up the antenna and ideally insert a (FAT/FAT16 formatted) CF card.
With the unit outside, you should get a flashing red LED GPS lock light after a max 2-3 minutes post power up, and a flashing green status light almost immediately. If those blink, you are nearly OK. Push the log button and the logging light should glow continuously.
If all that works you can be 95% confident that the unit is good. For a final confirmation you can tilt the unit a few times, then look at the data in the Analysis software.
