oil pressure/temp readings jumping about and backlight not w

hi the temp readings are jumping around like mad is it to do with the filtering settings? also since i reflashed it the blue backlight came on then went off ive been told its in the new firmware to do with iva and to use the sidelight wire but is there any other way of sorting this? thanks in advance

As for the jumping temp readings, yes, you need to apply some averaging. Typically 3-5 number of readings to average over is sufficient, but you just have to try.

If you know the max rate of change per sample (you need to know the sampling frequency of the sensor at the DLx or at the Dash2 - which is 10 Hz iirc) then you can change the max rate of change to cap the amount that it will jump around.

i.e., 50*F per min at warm up, and sampling at 10 Hz, then the it's 0.083 *F per sample (10Hz = 600 samples per minute. 50/600 = 0.083). So I'd set the max rate of change to 0.1.
