Dash2 Equation for kPa to psi

Postby peterguk » Fri Aug 18, 2017 8:03 pm

MoTeC M4 with RT serial adaptor to DL1 and Dash2.

ECU outputs manifold pressure in kPa.

I want to display boost in psi.

I can't create an equation from a table as i don't have voltages to input.

So i need to enter a equation that reflects the conversion from kPa to psi.

Can anyone give me the equation or method to compute formula?

I can obviously plot kPa against psi in a spreadsheet graph, but how do i get the equation from the resulting line?

Hello,

For future reference - Once you have entered the values into the lookup table in the DASH2 config tool (KPA in the 'Input X' column and PSI in the 'Output Y' column) simply press OK and the config tool will automatically make an equation for you, for example: Y = + 0.145x. This will appear just under where it states 'Scaling' on the 'Input scaling' tab.

However, in this case it's easier to use the 'Enter an equation manually' feature. 1 KPA = 0.145 PSI - Load the latest created DASH2 configuration in the DASH2 config tool > Go to the 'Input scaling' tab > Use the drop down box to select the 'Boost pressure' variable > Click the 'Enter n equation manually' option > In the third box down enter: 0.145 > Select OK > you should see Y = + 0.145x under scaling > Send new configuration to the dash > test.

Best regards,
Dan

Dan

Thank you for your prompt reply.

So the lookup table will work with values other than actual measured voltages!

I didn't realise the solution was as simple as it is!

Excellent! Thanks again!

Peter
