How do I make screen brighter.

Hi I need the screen to be brighter. I can hardly read at night due to low light level/contrast. Thanks
On a road car , connect purple wire 1 , connection 2 , to a 12v fed to your car's sidelights . The dash backlight will come on when you switch the sidelights on
On a race car, connect this purple wire to a 12V supply , and via a dash mounted switch , to get the dash backlight turned on
RT should maybe rename this wire the dash backlight wire and not sidelight
