DL1 CLUB power on issue

Hi,

Got a DL1 CLUB which has recently been working. Now when power is applied the unit does not work. Initially I get both red & both green LEDs flashing very quickly. Pushing in the SD card makes these go out (SD card is blank has been reformatted) but the power on LED never comes on.

There is nothing plugged into the rear of the unit other than the connector block (plugging in the GPS makes no difference). When connecting the DL1 via USB to my PC it does register (standard windows notification sound) and the device manager shows a new USB serial port. Trying to read the configuration just fails with a 'No response for hardware identification message'.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi

This sounds like the firmware has got corrupted somehow. The best thing to do is try reflashing from the configuration software (file --> reflash) via USB.

It's not playing ball via the USB. I just get the same No Response message. Is it possible to re-flash via SD card?

I've tried to re-flash via USB (I just copied the DL1MK3_v7_1_8.RMG file onto a blank SD card), this does not seem to have made any difference (unless the firmware needs to go into a specific sub-directory).

Is there anything else that I can try?

To reflash via SD card you must insert the SD card with the .RMG file with the power off. Then turn on the DL1. Is this what you did?

I tried both to no avail. Have just tried inserting, then power on. Left for 10 mins, nothing appears to happen, no LEDs on at all. If I pop the SD card then all of the LED's start flashing again.

Hi John

What brand, model and size of SD card are you using?

Scandisk Ultra 4gb 15mb/s. Just tried a Scandisk extreme 32GB 45mb/s card as well - same results. Both cards where correct ejected from the PC after the firmware was copied to them.
