DL1 firmware

A friend of mine needs to reflash his DL1 to some more recent firmware. He needs the lap-timing features and his firmware is version 3.<something> which ISTR doesn't support this.
Can someone mail me a suitable .hex file please? (Send it to
tim@hoverd.org).

Would it be possible to host the various firmware on this site, rather than having to request them individually?
I know you chaps are very busy and so it would be one less overhead for you.

You would think that, but the reduction in workload from sending out files is more than made up for by people downloading the wrong files and messing up their loggers. Or in some cases, reflashing a DL1 with AX22 code and the like. This way the chances of that happening are greatly reduced.

My firmware version is 8-5. Is there a compelling reason why I need to re-flash my DL1?

Not really, if you are just using the DL1 without a dashboard then there are only a few minor tweaks. If you don't have any issues with it I would leave it alone.
