Need Help Connecting Serial ECU to a DL1

I finally got my serial ecu connector for my DL1.

However, I am having a problem with it.

When I connect it to the DL1, it locks up the DL1 and the DL1 will not begin logging any data. The three other lights illuminate, but the logging light will not.

Even after I disconnect the Serial ECU connector, I still cannot log data... I have tried three times now.

I am not sure what resets the DL1, but eventually it starts allowing me to log more data.

But, as soon as I plug in the Serial ECU to the DL1, it goes dead again.

I am running firmware version 11-5 in my old style, green connector, DL1 unit.

I checked the 12v power I am supplying to the Serial ECU and the polarity and voltage is correct.

What can I do to make it work??

How do I reset the DL1 when it locks up like this?

I have a race Sunday, so I am hoping I can use it for the race...

Thank you,

Jeff

So, support had me re-flash my DL1. Now it will log data again.

However, with the Serial ECU adapter connected, it is blowing the fuse in my DL1's DC adapter plug.

What size fuse should I be using?

On the side of the DL1's DC adapter plug it says 8A.

Does that mean I should be using an 8 Amp fuse??

Thank you

I still need help.

My last race of the season is tomorrow and I have not been able to log data at the last 4 events...

I have isolated the problem.

Ever since I re-flashed the box my system dies as soon as I connect the GPS antenna!

It seems to operate normally, but once I connect the GPS antenna All four lights on the front light solidly for a couple seconds and then they all turn off and the DL1 dies.

This happens before I even connect the serial ECU adapter...

I have had the GPS antenna problem as well. Mine was solved by replacing the antenna (the wire was 'kinked' where it passed past the door rubber).

I changed mine for a roof mount type (had to drill a hole in the race car roof) and it not only looks better (no wire going to the antenna across the roof) but the signal is a bit better as well.

Have a look at this:

ps. not trying to take business away from RT.

You must just specify an SMA connector so that it connects directly to the DL1. 8)
