I'd like to hard wire the Dash2 serial data lines from a Dash2 to the connector block on the DL1.

Tx on the Dash2 goes to the SRx on the DL1?

"Standard" RS232 protocol requires a ground line as well. I need one to have the DL1 and Dash2 talk properly?

Hi,

You need Tx, Tx and Ground for the data connection, note that data goes in both directions between the DL1 and the DASH2. So you need:

DL1 side DASH2
Tx ---------------------------> Rx
Rx ---------------------------> Tx
Gnd -------------------------> Gnd
