mounting orientation of DL1

Postby porter_jamie » Wed Jun 03, 2009 7:32 pm

In the knowledge base it states i should mount the DL1 buttons back, away from direction of travel, but in the analysis software it implies that i can mount it side ways or back to front, and compensate

I need to fit it sideways really as the space is tight (it's a motorcycle)

What can i do?

cheers

IIRC, MK2 units (large black plug) have a 3 axis sensor that allow any orientation. MK1 was 2 axis.

Note that on a bike, much of the accelerometer data can be misleading.

For mapping analysis, you should disable the accelerometers.
The GPS will do the job for you, with the DL1 mounted in any orientation.
Just make sure that it is not too close to sources of EMI.Same goes for the routing of the antenna cable.
