Serial Cabling Schematic

Now that I have my DL1, Dash2, CAN interface, and Video4... I am going to rewire my cockpit.
One thing that concerns me the the number of cables and connectors involved - including extension cables. I was thinking of making a custom wiring harness to run all the devices together without all the connectors. K.I.S.S. towards better reliability. Is this advisable?
If so... Would it be possible to get an overall wiring schematic of the various serial cables? Or at least a signal flow of the bus?
