Dash 2 Buttons

Postby TrackReady » Sun Sep 18, 2011 4:23 am

None of my buttons are responding on my Dash2. This is a new install. Currently I have Conn2 Power/Gnd connected. along with the 4 buttons and the common.

Conn1 = Pwr/Gnd.

Am I missing something?

From these pinouts:
http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/ind ... stallation

Conn-2
Pin 5 > button 1 > pin 2 - Select button
Pin 8 > button 2 > pin 2 - Down button
Pin 13 > button 3 > pin 2 - Up button
Pin 14 > button 4 > pin 2 - Menu button

Pin 2 is the switch common.

make sure you don't have any solder bridges or carbon fragments, etc.

make sure you have the right pins? IIRC the view is on the connector, not the dash, but if you get it wrong, the pins are mirror imaged. The dash powers up?

the dash powers up fine.

I am using the harness that came with the dash.

White Wire = Common
Brown = down
Green = up
Pink = Select
Orange =Menu

Put a voltmeter across one of the buttons and power up the display. There should be about 5V, which goes to zero when you push the button. That'll find your problem in a hurry. If it's fine, the wire likely go to the wrong pins.
