Anyone have experience installing a dash 2 or DL1 sport into a classic car such as a mini?

I am trying to get some clarification about wiring the Rpm engine speed.

The DASH2 only has a low level RPM input, but the DL1 SPORT has a high level RPM input which you should be able to connect to the low tension side of the ignition coil.
