Nissan inductive wheel speed sensor

Postby boxheadmr » Tue Mar 24, 2009 6:50 am

Hi,

I'm using a DL1 and Dash2 in a Nissan Silvia (S14 200SX) and would like to use the car's existing wheel speed sensor.

It's an inductive type sensor, giving a variable voltage and frequency AC sine wave output depending on speed.
In the factory setup, the speedo in the dash has the signal processing circuitry and outputs a normal 5v square wave signal for the ECU.

Is there a converter available for this type of sensor, or a simple circuit people are using successfully?

Incidentally, the output from the speed sensor is similar to a bare ABS sensor, but with less pulses per km.

thanks!

Do you have any more information on this "black box?" :)
