Need help wiring a VDO sensor with standard ground

Postby jbs » Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:13 pm

Since I can't find a proper adaptor to fit the Race-Technology Bosch oil temperature sensor, I want to buy a 1/8NPT VDO sensor.

Here is the wiring diagram from RT :

Am I right in assuming, that I can install the sensor like this :

Will I get more or less accurate readings ?

Thanks for all help.

Yes. It assumes you have a good ground for the sensor though.

That's exactly what I am using on my racecar currently for oil temp logging. Of course, it's easier to do the bridge at the DL1, rather than back at the sensor... ;)

Has been working just fine for me for a year, except when I broke the lug off the sender in service.

Thank you for your replies, guys. Image
Race-Technology have ordered 1/8 NPT sensors, see thread here : http://www.race-technology.com/forum/vi ... =9886#9886.
I will order from them as soon as they have them in stock.
