RPM input problem

Postby monkeyboy » Wed Jul 18, 2012 9:16 pm

Hi,

Having a problem getting the RPM input to work on my DL1 and Dash3. The DL1 is connected up with -ve side of coil to rH, and rG to ground, it's on a 4 cylinder engine and i've configured the Dash3 with Pulses Per Revolution as 2. Here are some of the traces i get when i rev the engine....

They don't reflect the revs at all, and the Dash gives a Low warning for the RPM. The last picture is the only one with any kind of curve, all of them seem to just seem to show some kind of linear responses unrelated to the engine revs.

Any ideas ??

Many thanks
Alistair

start by turning off the 8000 RPM max limit in the variable manager (and any filtering/smoothing/max rate of change while your in there), then you can see what you've actually got
