DL1 Compact flash card update

Postby Joseluis » Mon Jul 05, 2010 5:09 pm

It begins to be quite difficult to find CF cards with less than 2GB memory. I think it would be interesting to update the DL1 to allow use higher capacity cards or other more current.

We are aware of the situation with compact flash card availability and are looking into some options.

In the meantime it is possible to use CF cards of greater capacity than 2GB, as long as they are formatted to FAT16. This will effectively limit the amount of storage possible on the card, but will allow the DL1 to write to it.

I use a 4GB card formatted with FAT16 and it works fine. Though Windows did give me a warning...

I could only get a 4GB card and formatted it to FAT, Windows shows it as a 2GB card.

However, when I install the card in my AX22 it says 4GB space remaining.

The unit will also randomly freeze up/and stop logging.

Could this be a card issue or something else?

Yes this is most likely a memory card issue. 2GB are available here>>> http://www.race-technology.com/content. ... =2&cat=736

DL1 Compact flash card update

Postby WilliamBal » Fri Mar 31, 2017 10:28 pm

Now that Macs have a slot for SD cards I was wondering if anyone knows if there is an adapter for a compact flash card to sd card slot?

Check ebay, heaps available, I've tried a couple out and they work find on my DL1 MK2, much more convenient than having to use a compact flash adapter for the laptop
You only need 2 things in your tool box, duct tape and WD40.
-if it moves and it shouldn't use the duct tape
-if it doesn't move and it should use the WD40
