I do not have an RPM sensor for my DL1. Only recording GPS and Accelrometer data. When I combine 3rd party video with data the and export vdeo I get speed and acceleration displays but no RPM. This makes sense as there is no way the software can guess gear and rpm even though I have input gear and rear diff ratios. But it sure would be nice to see the tach at least display something even if simulated. Is there a way to do this or to edit the data and add an RPM stream?

you can mock up something by using a user defined equation in the RPM variable based on speed - I've done this before and got it quite close, but it was a bit of work!

Kind regards,

I created a modified dashboard layout that had no tachometer.

PostPosted: Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:35 am    Post subject: If statement syntax? Reply with quote

So, I replaced the rpm with a formula. Since I autocross and rarely get out of second gear I determined 2nd gear rpm = speed in mph * 67.7. So I put this formula VAR_0015 * 67.7 in the custom area for rpm. That's all good.

But what I really want is to also display 1st gear rpm correctly. I only use 1st gear during the first 20 secs or so of the run so I thought I could do an if statement like this psuedocode:

if speed < 40mph AND time < 20s then VAR_0015 * 111.8 else VAR_0015 * 67.7

However try as I might I get a syntax error. Can you give me a working example of an if formula?

if(VAR_xxxx<40 AND VAR_xxxx<20, VAR_0015 * 111.8,VAR_0015 * 67.7)
