Accelerometer calibration DL1

Postby ECOELEC » Mon Oct 27, 2014 2:47 pm

Hello,

I use a DL1MKIII + Dash4 oled. I need to use both accelerations measurements in real time (user variables which compute power, ...).

When I put the DL1 on an absolutely horizontal state, the accelerometer display -.12G long and 0.15G lat (with a 2G max, they are 6% and 7.5% wrong). Due to the sensor used inside, this drift of calibration is unavoidable and a user calibration is mandatory (at own user risks) without returning to RT.

The DL1 configuration software don't allow a user calibration.

Could you send me any software tools to do it myself?

Regards.

Dear Eco-elec,

The accelerometer we use in the DL1MKIII is the LIS3LV02DQ which we run at 2.5v.

Datasheet can be found here
http://www.st.com/web/en/resource/techn ... 047926.pdf

The specification of this sensor for long term drift is +/- 2% FS. So if you are seeing outside of -0.04 - 0.04 which you are then the sensor is out of spec and I recommend the unit to be returned for testing/repair.

Please contact service@race-technology.com to return the unit.

Kind regards,
Support (K)

My DL1MKIII just come back from servicing ... (the 12V output is non short-circuit protected and burned)!

My question is why DL1MKII accelerometers can be zeroed (http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/index.php/DL1/RecalibratingTheAccelerometers) and the MKIII (club) can't?
