|
|
I'm aware that it is not a straightforward process to incorporate a means of overwriting existing data on a CF card in Video4, but I use this feature all the time on my DL/1s and wish to do the same with the addition of video footage.
Seeing as 128GB compact flash cards are rather expensive, (and CF- Serial ATA drive adapters are not available) I would like the ability to continuously record video footage and logged data for a period of 5 days, and when the card is full the oldest files are overwritten.
Would this require bespoke hardware? If so, what would be the indicative cost (if possile!)?
Thanks,
Kris |

This is something that we could look at doing, but it would require special firmware. Can I ask what this would be used for?
If you want to discuss this in more detail just email me on gummi (at) race-technology.com _________________ ---------------------------------------------

The idea was to use the Video4 as a solid state CCTV recorder in a fit and forget application on our van. The DL1 will record vehicle accelerations and GPS position. I want to be able to leave the unit in continuous service, and interrogate the data (at least 5 days worth) at any stage using the Analysis software. Apart from the inability to record over data on the flash card, the current features of this hardware combination are acceptable.
You say this will require specialist firmware? Would this feature become available to all users of Video4? I see such a firmware feature increasing the Video4 application to many other non-racing related applications. |

Just a quick update on this issue, the loop recording is now an available function in the latest VIDEO4 firmware. _________________ ---------------------------------------------
