Still trying to get my fuel level on my Dash2 from my DL1
Ive found a wiring diagram for my car (mitsi evo) but the diagram seems to show 2 senders??

Any help would be very appreciated

Not sure how to post pics Sad [/img]

If you are replacing your stock gauges with the Dash2....

You can wire them both in series or in parallel, you just need to make sure that your pull up network will not pull too much current.

It probably uses two senders to average out fuel level variation.

Regardless, you will probably need a really long refresh rate and a slow rate of change.

So would you connect across them as a 2wire with a 10k resistor
then log and see how it goes?

cheers Adam

For reference at the bottom of this page is a table listing which resistors to use.

Can you measure the resistance across the sensors with them disconnected? treat the two sensors as one when doing this. That way we can calculate the pull up resistor needed.

Seem to have 6.1 ohms across the 2 senders

Thats with around about 3/4 to full tank

So would pressume a 10k resistor to get amps down to 120mAmp is that correct

Cheers Adam

6.1 ohms seems very low for 3/4 full tank. Would you possibly measure the resistance with an empty tank?

Using a 10,000 ohm resistor would result in hardly any voltage swing.
A 10,000 ohm pull up resistor would be suitable for a resistance between a few thousand ohms up to tens of thousands of ohms.

Are you sure that is not 6.1 K ohms? It's easy to have the wrong setting on your volt meter.......

Not sure mate will have a look

So if it is 6k measured what would be the next step

Will I be able to just connect across them with the 5v ref voltage from the DL1

Cheers Adam

I dunno, but most fuel senders are in the 0-240 Ohm or so range. Full to empty or empty to full......

Think I will give the 1k resistor a try gets some logs and see from there

Any more tips Question
