On this page are some sample overlay files to use with the VIDEO4 video recording system. These can also be used to post-process onto your videos using the Analysis software's video export feature. Please feel free to customise any of the below overlays to suit your taste.

Overlay Examples

Overlay info:
Four overlay files with various controls set up. As supplied with the software.

Overlay DASH2

DASH2 overlay info:
A single dashboard area in the style of Race Technology's DASH2. Complete with shiftlights and RPM scale. Both PAL and NTSC types are included in the download.

Overlay F1

F1 overlay info:
A single dashboard area in a similar style to the F1 telemetry data seen on TV. Both PAL and NTSC types are included in the download in KPH and MPH formats.

Overlay GT

GT overlay info:
A single dashboard area in the style of a popular computer game display. Speed, g-forces (cornering, braking and accelerating), RPM and gears are displayed. Both PAL and NTSC types are included in the download,in KPH and MPH formats.

Overlay Elise

Elise overlay info:
Dashboard inspired by the Lotus Elise. Displaying speed, RPM, and cornering g-force. The dashboard surround is blended out to provide a great look without obscuring the video. Both PAL and NTSC types are included in the download, in KPH and MPH formats.

Overlay Headup

Headup overlay info:
Dashboards inspired by various headup displays. 2 different RPM scales available - a numbered one going up to 7500, and a fully configurable coloured scale. Cornering forces and speed are also displayed. Both PAL and NTSC formats included.

Overlay 911

911 overlay info:
Dashboard based on the Porsche 911. A main RPM dial with cornering, braking and acceleration g forces. The smaller speed dial has 2 scale options 200 and 330. Both PAL and NTSC formats included.

Overlay Target

Target overlay info:
Dashboard using the new features added in version 2.2.58 of the configuration software. G forces use the new "Dynamic line" control, and the concentric dials use the "Hide length" function. Please ensure you are using recent software.

Overlay Doubleup

Doubleup overlay info:
Dual dials with central displays, using the new features added with version 2.2.58 of the configuration software. G forces, RPM, Speed, Lap times and counter are displayed. Please ensure you are using recent sofware.

Overlays Widescreen

Widescreen overlays info:
A range of new widescreen layouts taking advantage of our new higher resolution widescreen functionality. Requires update to the latest software package (7064 or later) and an update to the VIDEO4 unit

Overlay Superleague

Superleague overlay info:
Overlay inspired by the Superleague Formula data overlay. PAL and NTSC versions with 130 and 210 speed scales. Images enclosed for cutomisation of RPM scale. Please ensure you are using recent software.

Overlay Exo

Exo overlay info:
Overlay using RPM, speed and g forces as standard, with plenty of possibilities for customisation. PAL and NTSC versions with 150mph and 240kph speed scales. Please ensure you are using recent software.

Conversion between standard and widescreen layouts, plus full customisation is easy using the supplied software. Load layouts on top of others, change to widescreen and select and drag multiple controls.
