Sharing and accessing other users data
One of the most important parts of the new run databasing system is the ability to share your data with others and also see there data. A typical example might be that you are going to a new track and you would like to look at some data from another user hopefully in a similar car.
This feature has to be enabled in the analysis options, more details are here.
Once activated, any data that you add to the database will be uploaded to the Race Technology server for others to see, and all the data on the server will be available for download.
When the analysis quits, then it compares the runs in the local database with the files available from the internet and automatically uploads any that are missing. This will include uploading any associated video files, however because video files can be very large it will compress them down in both resolution and quality before uploading them.
The video compression and upload runs at a low priority on the PC, this is done so that the PC remains usable for other tasks. If you wish to stop this happening, then the best option is to disable the file sharing before shutting down the PC.
Finally note that it’s only possible to download other users files if your own data is available, its not possible to enable downloads only. This has been done deliberately to encourage the sharing of data between users.
