VariableManager / CheckingAvailableVariables

Checking Available Variables

This dialog allows you to check which variables are available to use with Analysis tools.

  • It displays variables from all RUN files loaded into Analysis program or from a selected RUN file.
  • Displays whether variable contains data.
  • Displays which variables are currently activated ( enabled ).
  • Allows you to activate and deactivate variables (as you do in variable manager).
Note: Variables must be enabled (activated) to use them in Analysis tools. Activation can be done in two places, using this window or in Variable Manager. For more information on enabling variables using Variable Manager click here.

To check the availability of variables

1. Select a RUN file from the From run combo box.

Variables displayed in the grid will depend on the options you are going to select here.

  • Selecting a RUN file displays variables from the file.
  • Selecting “All Runs” displays variables from all RUN files.

2. Select Show options

These options decide which variables are displayed in the grid.

  • All Variables
Shows all variables available in the version of the Analysis program that you are using.
  • Active Variables with no data
Variables that are enabled to use in the Analysis program, but RUN file has no data to fill them.
  • Inactive variables with data

3. Depending on the options you have selected in first and second step, following information is shown in the variable grid.

  • Variable
Shows the variable name.
  • Samples
Number of data samples for the variable. If you have selected All Runs list item in From Run combo box then it will show the total number of samples for the variable from all RUN files.
  • Enabled
