Hello Support,
I recently upgraded to V8 and appear to again have to transcribe all my custom variable defs into the new var files.
Has any progress been made in the last 6 years to merge variable files?
Thanks

Merge variable definitions?
A new install of RT has deleted a data directory I had in the program directory. I know of no other installer that deletes non-colliding existing directories on install. Anyway, I am starting again from scratch building screen layouts, vehicle and variable definitions but have lost a lot of old run ...

This is not a direct answer to your question but may be helpful. Build a new variable which is GPS speed divided by RPM. The graph result in non-slip conditions should be series of flat plateaus as you progress around a track, one plateau for each gear ratio you use. When the plateaus are no longer ...

Yes a few modifications but ultimately based on the Trackvision standard Pod gauge with Map.
I see you are in Oz. Drop me an email sometime and we should catch up.

Steering angle data
I am trying to convince myself that the investment in a steering angle sensor will give me benefit. Would someone who has DL1 data recorded with a steering sensor be willing to let me have a RUN file to investigate? What channel calibrations were used for the steering sensor? If so please email to Z...

I have some data, but the fastest lap is around 1:47. I just let the RT sw define the sectors for me, so nothing special about that. BTW, the sectors (markers) are stored in a separate file - not with data. Let me know if you are interested. I am looking at doing the Bathurst Speed Weekend at some ...

Try one of these... m The hookup is straight wire to the 5V/ground and analog inputs. I used another of these modules and housed it the plastic case that came with some SDram I bought. If you want it watertight, either pot it with the proper stuff or otherwise just fill the case up with Araldite or ...

Thank you for your help. I have interfaced the ADXRS directly using 3 analog 5V inputs. This gives access to yaw rate, die temperature and the 2.5V reference. I will 4 point calibrate it as you suggest. Would you release the slip calculations you have used internally or are these regarded as proprie...

Thanks for the clarifications of reality (as expected) on the variable stuff. I will be using an ADXRS150 from Analog Devices on a cheap breakout board so the investment is cheap other than my time. The electronics, maths and vehicle dynamics don't daunt me. I use LapSim already to model my track ti...

Variable substitution?
Let's say I install my own yaw rate sensor and calibrate the data nicely in deg/s. There is already a variable (two actually) called yaw rate that I believe are inputs to other functions. The one I am interested in is slip angle. Can I somehow substitute my yaw rate data for the data feed that doesn...
