Button common/ground

I understand that the switch lines need to be grounded when that button is pushed, but to what ground? I note that there is a specific common/ground for the switches, but electrically that does seem to be the same as the D2P's main ground, so is the switch ground required? Could the buttons just con...

Variables

Is it possible to define ones own boolean variable that would be set when the engine is running, i.e. 0 when RPM < 500 and 1 when RPM >= 500 and then use that variable in controlling more than one output driver? I could control each output driver I need with the actual RPM check as well as any other...

Output Driver states

Would it be possible to have an output driver control 3 states, e.g. Off - LO - HI? I want to control something based on ambient air temperature, but the device has 2 states (apart from OFF), LO and HI. Could I somehow use one output driver to turn it on and also to switch its states depending on te...

Low fuel level sensor (reserve)

Motorcyclists will be familiar with having a light come on when fuel level gets low. On the bike to which I am fitting the D2P there is a single line from the OEM dash to the sensor which also has a ground connection. The bike version of the D2P I think uses the fog light connection for this, but wi...

This is what Motec have to say on this type of sensor, you may some of info helpful in your quest m Thanks, yes I had seen that, but ultimately didn't think it helped me with circuit design for a suitable amplifier. Rather it was explaining how to allow the Motec Dash to directly read the WSS signa...

MagnetoResistive Active Wheel Speed Sensor

I am fitting the Dash 2 Pro to a motorcycle from which the ABS has been removed. Mechanically this is not a problem, but the front and rear WSS were each connected to the ABS ECU which then passed a speed signal for each to the main ECU to use the data for the Traction Control function. I don't part...

Actually, a simple delay is not the best solution to prevent chatter. Suitable hysteresis could be provided if trigger ON could be set to a different value to OFF. Is this possible?

Two external control questions

Still trying to gain a better overall understanding of what I can do with my Dash 2 Pro and so looking for advice. I will be reading the external/ambient air temperature for display and want to trigger one of the outputs below a specified temp. I believe this is possible. But can I then easily 'adju...

Re: Dash2Pro screens

what happens when you press the 'Next' button and are already on screen 5? Cycles to screen 1. And "Previous" button on screen 1 will cycle to screen 5. Thanks for that. That's good, although somewhat surprising news. What about the total number of screens? Is it 5 per config set? Don't g...

Dash2Pro screens

I am apparently able to set up 5 different screen layouts and switch between them. Hoping someone could clarify a couple of things:- I can set up buttons to scroll between these different screens, but what happens when you press the 'Next' button and are already on screen 5? Does it simply stick at ...
