DL1 and Dash2 settings

I am trying to get correct RPM setings on my Dash2 via a DL1. I assume there has to be some form of correlation between the format of the data outputted from the DL1 and that inputted into the Dash2. I have searched through the help sections and knowledge base and although I can find topics that cover each individual component I dont seem to be able to find any that cover the Dash2 and DL1 as a pair. Any advice welcome including directions to a relevant page if I have missed it!
