I am following the directions for flashing a dash 2 or 3 - but they do not seems to work for a Dash 4. Is this possible or do I need to take the Vid 4 out of the loop and directly connect the Dash 4 to my DL1?
Thanks.
Flashing Dash 4 config from a Video 4?
Tried again, reads "Pls restart device" or something like that (though it initially starts with the "invalid config" message.
Now what?
I disconnected the in-line connector from the Dash 4 (the fancy connector with the bulkhead fitting), but that didn't help. I turned the Video 4 on/off, but that didn't help either. It just kept giving the same "restart" message once the Video 4 booted up.

I misunderstood...
1/ if you reflash the firmware with a hex file, then you need to reconfigure the unit afterwards - but ti sounds like this was not the case here
2/ if you have tried to reconfigure the unit (not reflash) and it is still saying invalid configuration then the problem is that communications are getting interupted during the reconfiguration. In this case please connect the DASH4 DIRECTLY to the DL1 or VIDEO4 (with nothing else in the "circuit") and try reconfiguring again.
After it completes the DASH4 will start up with the new configuration.
