Fuel Flow Sensor

Postby gsr » Tue Apr 30, 2013 12:52 pm

Hi,

I have installed a fuel flow sensor on the supply to the fuel rail (there is no return so what flows through the sensor is used)

I have not installed a jet and have set the formula up as per the knowledge base http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/ind ... s/FuelFlow using a k factor of 1420.

This gives me a flow rate in litres per second, so I think if I integrate this, I should get a fuel consumption

However, from the 2 sessions I have used it, the total consumption is not tieing up with a basic dipstick check on fuel consumption.

Is it possible that the lack of reducing jet is introducing an error into the system? The logger is suggesting a consumption of around 0.1-0.11 l/m but it is actually closer to 0.5l/m

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
