Logging gear position

I have a Dash 2 fitted to my car which reads information from my DL1 mk1. i have the gears set up on the dash as the calculation from revs and GPS speed. how do i see this information on my data logger through the analasys software?

You need to set up the car options in the Analysis software with the same gear information. Then exactly the same calculations will be done in the Analysis software.

That is all set up, but can't find where to access it in the software

The gear variable is in the standard variables list, about the 11th down from the top.

That's not listed in mine. I am running version 8

I have now fitted a sequential box, and using the Dash 2 gear indicator. still cant see how to log the gear changes.
i have updated to version 8.5 software as well.
Any pointers will be helpfull
