LANC Control Output

I am trying to figure out how to turn on my Chasecam video recorder together when I press the DL1 start button. could I use the Log Status output to do this?

2.5 mm jack or 5 pin mini-din connectors is used:

Pin of jack / minidin Signal Description

1 R / 1 +Vdc +5...8 volt, depending on model and battery used
3 Switch Connect Pin 3 to GND for >140 ms to power on/off
2 CTL

I am about to get a chasecam as well,so lets hope there is a simple answer!
